The 30/30 challenge is done and dusted!

Image
Well, it is over. The 30 paintings in 30 days challenge has come and gone and I must say that I am more than a little relieved. I am sick of painting rivers. Haha. I cannot wait to get stuck into some different subject matter and see how the skills have come along in that time. When I stop and think about painting,I do feel more confident in my general ability to make it work but I guess we'll see.  So how did the paintings end up? Overall, I reckon I had about 60% of the 30'paintings that I ended up happy with. I learned to work a lot more loose and quickly which resulted in some great moments but overall I still found that my tendency to "fiddle" was still prevelant so I did lose some of those moments too.  I found the challenge fun but somewhat stressful in as far as feeling a little pressure to get the work done. My wife is happy that it is over. Haha.  What would I do differently next time?  I think I wouldn't narrow myself into a theme. I thought it'd m...

So, just like the last update, life has gotten in the way a bit but I've still managed to put up a completed work every day, with varying degrees of quality. :) ha Learning to work quickly and loosely will no doubt be a fantastic advantage when it comes to completing studied works in the near future. What are your favourites on the pics I've posted here so far? Check out my Facebook site ! Check out my Website ! Check out the 30 in 30 website  ! Thanks guys. Tony

Days 5,6,7,8 & 9 of the 30/30 challenge

Well!!! Woweee!!! It has been a big week. My Facebook page has gone from 300 followers a week ago to nudging 4000 as I write this. I participated in my first ever painting workshop with Malcolm Carver. It was amazing but I'll talk a bit more about that in a future post. It deserves more time than this little post. So, the 30 in 30 challenge is in full swing. I've managed to keep up so far with varying degrees of success. I guess the main thing is that I'm putting in the hours and that is gradually translating into more confident work. What are your thoughts? Here are the latest ones. Please visit my Facebook Page and Website. Thanks.

30/30 Days 3 and 4.

Howdy, SO, I went into this challenge with the idea of using up old scraps of paper/offcuts etc... This is a great idea when I'm talking about my usual top quality paper (usually Arches 300gsm Rough), but when I've tried to paint on some old rubbishy cheap WC paper, the results are horrendous... so, USE GOOD PAPER!!!! I cannot stress this enough. :)  Anyway, here are my entries for days 3 and 4 of the challenge. Enjoy... and don't forget to visit my Facebook page and give it a LIKE and a SHARE too.....  Thanks a million. Tony The Mississippi Saskatchewan

Hey Guys, I just thought I'd bunch a few of these up at a time, but here's my first post with them so I've got my first 2 paintings for yas.  The challenge is incredibly inspiring and the response I've had so far has been nothing short amazing. My Facebook page has started to take off and the audience is building. Incredibly cool.  As you know, my theme for the challenge is Rivers of the World. Here are The Murray River and The River Seine.  Thanks a million and once again, if you'd like to buy either of them or any other work that takes your fancy, please inbox me on my  facebook page or email me at thewhitearts@gmail.com   Thanks a million.  Tony The Murray River The Seine
